Summer 2010

We've had a lot going on this summer. Alex went to the zoo for the first time and rode a pony for the first time. He also took his first swim in the Ocoee River. Here's a few snapshots from our summer so far!

Dresses Only

I've been wearing dresses and skirts exclusively now for about 3 weeks. At times I really wanted to just slip on some jeans, but I have stayed steadfast in my convictions and I have to say I had a bit of a personal revelation yesterday.

Right or wrong, people really do treat you differently when you're dressed in a more feminine way. I have had more polite nods, hellos, doors held, groceries carried and ma'ams then I ever could have imagined.

It makes me feel good to be respected as a lady, not just a woman. Any thoughts?

Cooking

I love to cook. My husband calls me a chef, my family calls me a gourmet but I call myself a Foodie. I love to experiment with new flavors and tastes. I love to help people realize that "gourmet" doesn't have to be expensive or fussy. Here are some of my favorite creations. Anyone who wants a recipe, just let me know!
